Wii Fit blog: Dancing with penguins
I've been using Wii Fit for three weeks now and it's safe to say I'm hooked.
Most evenings I manage to grab half an hour to keep things 'ticking over' but on the odd occasion, a footy match on TV (which must, I am told, be viewed in the comfort of the living room), scuppers my plans.
Such a missed opportunity this week prompted me to try getting my Wii Fit board out while Kieran was in the room.
As anyone with a toddler will concur, this sort of decision is always something of a gamble. Would I be met with 'No Mummy dancing!' (the word 'no' is a particular favourite at the moment)? Or would he feel like joining in?
Initially, when I tried a spot of hula hooping, he wasn't impressed. 'No Mummy huley hopping!' was the cry.
But as soon as I moved on to Penguin Slide - a balance exercise I had unlocked a couple of days previous - the mood turned full circle.
Firstly, as far as Kieran is concerned, penguins are hilarious.
Furthermore, the sight of one tumbling into the sea when I fail to maintain my balance correctly, sends him into raptures.
This morning, among Kieran's list of daily demands, he shouted 'Penguin Game!'
